Amy was called to the bar of England and Wales 2009. She undertook a reduced pupillage under the supervision of Jason Elliott and joined Chambers as a tenant in May 2021. Amy has already built a significant practice in our Family and Consumer Rights teams and continues to accept instructions in all areas.

Amy has over 12 years advocacy experience and client management in a variety of areas, namely, criminal defence, childcare (both public and private), high value ancillary relief, civil litigation, medical negligence, and contentious probate

Amy has worked offshore and is a qualified Guernsey Advocate in addition to being a member of the Bar of England and Wales. Due to this, Amy has had exposure to an extremely broad and high-calibre scope of work, and so can operate a varied and high-volume practice.

Since returning to the United Kingdom, Amy has worked in house for the Local Authority within their children safeguarding department with a specialism in the conduct of cases with allegation of serious sexual abuse and neglect.


Criminal defence

Amy has specialised in the defence of historic sexual offences, with a particular emphasis in respect of charges of Rape and serious indecent assaults. Amy has also had conduct of the defence of the following:

  1. Rape

  2. Indecent assault

  3. Wounding

  4. Grievous bodily harm

  5. Drugs possession and importation

  6. Matters arising from proceeds of crime


Amy also took part in the “duty advocate” scheme, which required not only out of hours police station attendance but also the representation of disposal of individuals at Court.


Child Care / Family


Amy has vast experience of all childcare matters, both public and private, and has the advantage of having appeared for both family members and Local Authorities.

Amy has appeared in many complexes finding of fact hearings involving multiple allegations (often with a criminal element) in addition to initial emergency applications.


In respect of private work, Amy has acted or parents, grandparents, and guardians in a variety of cases


In terms of childcare and family work, Amy has conduct of the cases involving the following:

  1. Placement orders

  2. Care Orders

  3. Child arrangement orders

  4. Supervision orders

  5. Non molestation orders

  6. Ouster orders


Ancillary Relief


As an offshore advocate, Amy has had the opportunity to have conduct of high end complex ancillary relief cases, often involving high net worth individuals. These cases primary involved complex financial disputes and the cross examination of forensic experts.


Civil Litigation


Amy has had conduct of several civil litigation matters with a range of complexity, namely:

  1. Evictions and stays of evictions

  2. Trust disputes

  3. Contractual disputes

  4. Debt recovery


Medical Negligence


Offshore, Amy has acted for both the MDDUS and MDU being involved in both mediations and complex medical negligence hearings. Notably, Amy has also been instructed for to represent those in respect of matters before the GMC.


Contentious Probate


Amy has had conduct of several high value contentious probate matters. She has been involved the following:

  1. Removal of executor

  2. Issues of validity and competency
